My name is Bakh Dargali. I am Shawn's father. He plays in the third grade level of YFBC. I cannot emphasize enough the superb affect that playing basketball has had on my son. The positive influence of YFBC's coaches & players on my son has truly been amazing. It has helped in teaching him & cemented the spirit of team work, cooperation, and helping each other out. Shawn values his playing with YFBC as it has also helped him go up to become an A student in a one of the PLANO ISD schools. There are many ways of helping the children to reach out to the stars, fight fiercely for their dreams, and become productive members of the society, but for the Dargali family, having our son play in a team that values integrity, morality, honest tough competition and sportsmanship is one the important routes. The acronyms of that route are YFBC. If Children are the most important resources & hope that we have, then we must insure that they armed with knowledge & positive ways to excel & be good world citizens. YFBC, in this regard & for our family, is an important integral part of those positive influences. Coach Marcus, thank you so much. Our deep hearted appreciation are indeed for your tireless efforts in helping the kids and helping the community. You never get tired from asking what you can do to help the young generation so tomorrow can be brighter day for humanity.

Hello, this is Shay & Roderick and our son Darrian has played under the YFC umbrella for four years strong. I can positively say that Darrian has improved leaps and bounds under his tutelage with each passing season. As parents, you want to see your son not only improve in their respective sport(s) but also enjoy it as well. The passion and drive Mr. Hopkins displays towards the game of basketball involving these kids is tremendous and it shows with each game through the kids as well as Marcus himself. His energy is infectious and he treats each child as if he or she was his own. In short, I would highly recommend ANY child to participate with the YFC program regardless of the child's skill set.

After joining YFC, I have seen a huge improvement in my son. He not only has come out of his box, he is really understanding the word "teamwork". Many organizations preach about teamwork, but Coach Marcus really explains to the kids and shows them what it is to be part of a team. I have never met a Coach more caring, passionate, or amazing when it comes to his team!! We will follow Coach Marcus and YFC to any City they move to. Ty looks forward to practice, to games, and to just being around his teammates and Coaches. I can't thank this organization enough for helping him!!

I recently relocated to Plano, Texas from New York with my company Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. My son and I relocated here without any family. My son’s name is Jezziah he is 10 years old and he had to quickly adapt to a new environment. Jezziah is a great student and athlete so we had to find him a home on a football and basketball team. Through relationships he built at the Boys Club we found a great basketball coach in Marcus Hopkins. Coach Marcus has really dedicated himself to teaching our youth the game of basketball as well as building fundamental life skills. Jezziah’s basketball IQ has increased, his game has improved, his overall attitude has changed for the better. This is the direct result of the teaching of Coach Marcus. In addition to these skills, the team has a family feel to it so I guess we gained a sense of family away from home as well. We have been blessed to be part of a great organization and we look forward to participating in more events the YFC organization has to offer.

Marcus has been my Son's basketball coach now for three years. In that time Matthew's basketball IQ has doubled! Coach Marcus has also taught him discipline, self confidence, and how to be a leader both on and off the court. Being a part of the YFC family has been a true blessing.

Just wanted to thank you guys for allowing my daughter to join you guys on the KAA camp. She loved it and wants to go back next year. Obviously, it was a good experience for her. She talked all night about all the lessons and fun she had. This camp was just what she needed to help her grow up.

He is struggling to get it into his mind that school is important and that it is, at this point in his life, the most important thing. I am going to tell him that he can rejoin the team, with your permission, but I just ask that you reiterate the point to him. He really respects you and I think coming from you would go a long way. He was so pumped when you called him after the first game and told him that he played well. He has said numerous times that he has learned more in the few times he has played for you than in his entire career so what you say to him carries weight.
